Twilight Market coming soon

Portland District Health’s community market will return on Friday February 17 for the first time since 2019.

The event will feature a variety of stalls, music, games and food and will raise funds for services and equipment at PDH.

The last market in November 2019 was held on the hospital site but this year it is returning to the Ploughed Field to allow more space for displays and visitor movement.

PDH community engagement and fundraising manager Carolyn Malseed says it’s exciting to revive community events after long COVID-19 restrictions.

“We’ve had great community support in the past and we hope everyone will again come on board to make this a great event for the health service and the community,” Ms Malseed said.

The event will be run in partnership with Portland Community Markets.

“We will work with many outside market stall holders to showcase the region’s finest wares, provide an opportunity to engage with our community and raise funds for our health service,” Ms Malseed said.

Registrations for community members to be involved can be made directly with Portland Community Markets.

PDH departments will be involved with stalls, displays and food sales to raise funds for their individual areas.

“This is going to be great event and returning to the Ploughed Field will allow us to spread out and follow COVID-19 social distancing recommendations,” Ms Malseed said.

“We are still looking for community stallholders but we are sure there will be a lot of fun activities, music and interesting things to see and buy.”
