Graduate Nursing Information Night 2020

Where: Staff Training Room, Portland District Health, 141-151 Bentinck Street, Portland.

Portland Graduate Program (GNP) Information

  • Annual intake of 5 Graduate Nurses
  • Program is for  52 weeks with 5 weeks annual leave
  • Comprehensive orientation program and 5 paid study days
  • (0.8EFT) 8 days per fortnight
  • Commencing end Jan / Feb
  • 3 rotations
  • 1 week at DWECH (Aboriginal Health Service)
  • 12 month contract

Collaborative Program Information

PDH is also part of a Victorian, South West Health Collaborative Program, where the graduate rotates across 3 health services in the graduate year (Moyne, Western District Health Service, Portland District Health).  This program offers:

  • Position for 3 graduates
  • (3) Four month rotations at each site
  • (0.8 EFT) 8 days per fortnight
  • Commencing end Jan early Feb
  • Comprehensive orientation program and 5 paid study days
  • 1 week at DWECH (Aboriginal Health Service)
  • 3 short term contracts (total of 12 months)

The application process for the GNP and Collaborative programs MUST be submitted as separate applications.

  • Cover letter outlining your reason for GNP application
  • Curriculum Vitae (resume) with clinical experience outlined
  • 3 certified clinical placement assessments
  • Certified Academic transcript (including key)
  • 3 referees with contact details (clinical and work)
