Health Information Service
The Health Information Services (HIS) department provides a range of services for Portland District Health including record retrieval, clinical coding, system administration, forms design and clerical services. HIS operates from the ground floor of the Main Building at Portland District Health, positioned just past the kiosk, directly across from the Pathology and Radiology departments.
The department handles medical record retrieval and maintenance for patient care, manages secure record storage systems, ensures accurate diagnosis and procedure coding, collects hospital activity statistics, develops electronic health records using TrakCare, and provides health information to internal and external requestors for planning, research, and education purposes.
