Our Urgent Care Centre is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for urgent and emergency care - staffed by experienced clinicians.
In a life-threatening emergency, call 000 immediately.
Live Emergency Department activity
The dashboard below shows current activity in our Emergency Department, so you know what to expect before you arrive. Patients are always treated in order of clinical urgency, not arrival time.
This dashboard updates hourly and has been optimised for viewing on a mobile device. If you are on a PC, you can select the double ended arrow in the bottom right hand corner of the dashboard to expand to full screen.
What the activity levels mean
NORMAL
Even during normal activity, staff are often busy and waiting times around an hour can be expected.
BUSY
As we get busier, the number of people in the waiting room increases and the time you may need to wait for treatment gets longer.
EXTREMELY BUSY
When we are extremely busy, the waiting room often gets crowded and some people may need to wait more than four hours.
Urgent Care triage process
Our Urgent Care Centre can experience high demand, which may result in lengthy wait times for patients with non-urgent matters. We ask that community members only come to the Urgent Care Department for conditions that are urgent or life-threatening. If your condition is not urgent or life-threatening, please contact any open GP clinic or pharmacy, or use one of the alternative services listed below.
Here's what to expect when you arrive:
1
Arrive at PDH Urgent Care Centre
2
Speak to Receptionist and confirm details are accurate
3
Take a seat in the waiting area and wait for a triage nurse to call your name
4
Triage nurse will do some tests and assess your urgency of care required. Patient returns back to waiting area
5
Patient will be called to see the Doctor in the order of medical care and treatment required. Children and high-risk patients will be seen and treated as a priority.
